Nainital Tour

Ringed by seven hills and set around the Naini Lake, Nainital is as famous for its verdant hills and crystal clear lakes as it is for its legends and stories. Nainital was a chief refuge of the British who often visited and stayed here during the sultry conditions of the Indian summer. Hundreds of ancient temple also dot its landscape, roping in both travellers and devotees from far and near. Besides, the stupendous views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks render it much more desirable by tourists. According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Shiva's consort Parvati's corpse was dismembered, one of her eyeballs fell into the Himalyan foothills, giving rise to the Naini Lake. And that's how the spot came to be known as Nainital. Well, you can load yourself with more legends as you take an exhilarating boat ride along the lake. The oarsmen have all of it in store. The lower and upper ends of the lake have been segregated into Tallital and Mallital respectively.
