Disposable Needles

Disposable needles are intended for single-time use as they are manufactured in such as way that has shorter lifespan and are limited to one patient only. The most concerning reason behind single-time-use needles is infection control in order to minimize risks of cross-contamination. Hypodermic needle, where ‘hypo’ means ‘under’ and ‘derma’ means ‘skin’, is the mostly used needle with syringes. It is thin and has a sharp tip. 

Disposable needles are rapidly used to deliver pharmaceutical medicines or liquids to patients through many possible routes for an injection, including intravenous (into a vein) and intramuscular (into a muscle) – the most common ways. They are usually made from a stainless-steel tube. The end of the needle is so sharp pointed that enables easy skin penetration. They are hollow from inside being a medium to convey liquid from the attached syringe into the patient’s muscle or a vein.
